Divorce & Covid-19

by | May 26, 2020 | CUSTODY/SUPPORT, DIVORCE/DISSOLUTION |

Many people are considering divorce or dissolution especially now considering they may have been quarantined or home with their spouse during recent pandemic concerns.  If you are separating, you should consult with an experienced divorce attorney before making any major decisions.  The Covid-19 concerns have created a number of custody issues, however most of this has now been ruled and/or rectified by the Court system.

Many people are also concerns because of the courts and question whether they are open or not.  Currently, all courts are OPEN, however there is limited in person access and contested trials are often being rescheduled.  The family courts are hearing domestic violence cases and issuing protective orders as well as neglect and abuse cases involving children.
